Ancient memory and modern character in the heart of Modena

The ambitious renovation project of a historic premises in the heart of Modena allowed the aesthetic and functional versatility of Scrigno’s cutting-edge solutions to be demonstrated once again. The challenge for the Ambientevario practice was, indeed, that of combining the ancient memory of the site with the technological and modern nature of the new activity: the Patrizia restaurant.

A new restaurant concept

Creating a fluid and modern environment which still has respect for the historical context involved the construction of an immersive entrance hall to facilitate the passage between the indoors and out.
The central positioning of the chef’s table in the main dining area and the large table in the private dining area centralised the figure of the chef, emphasising guest engagement during the preparation of the dishes.

Lights, surfaces and furnishings

The true protagonists of the architectural project were the surfaces, the lights and the design of the furnishings.
The choice comes from the request to create a location which could also act as a blank canvas on which to project different works of art on the basis of the menus offered. The glass partitions, the original brick walls contrasting with the walls of backlit glass bricks, and the black resin floors have created aesthetic and functional continuity, emphasising the architectural characteristics of the location.
This is all enhanced by the spectacular effects provided by the lighting design and the attention to detail in the furnishings, almost invisible at first glance.

Scrigno solutions redefine the doorways

In order to support the clean lines of the walls, meet the design requirements of the architectural solutions, and increase the functionality of the passageways between the dining rooms and the various spaces, the Ambientevario practice chose our sliding doors from the Lacquered line and the Essential pocket door system. These products, free of edging trims and which can be fully resin covered, offer minimalistic and refined design, in keeping with the aesthetics of the restaurant and with the need to recontextualise the doorways.

Successful choices

The renovation of the Patrizia restaurant in Modena is an excellent example of how Scrigno products can be incorporated in high-level architectural projects to provide functionality and high-design sensibilities. The choices of the Ambientevario practice brought together modern technologies and respect for the historical memory of the site to create a unique restaurant, which is able to offer a memorable and sophisticated culinary experience. Scrigno is proud to have contributed to this successful project, once again proving the quality and innovation behind its products.
