The Studio DaMa – Home & Design practice successfully carried out the renovation of a large room with vaulted ceiling in a typical Apulian residence, harmoniously melding loft-apartment style with traditional, rustic farmhouse character.
The main challenge consisted in transforming a 27.5 m2 space, illuminated by a single French window, into a double room with en-suite and walk-in wardrobe.

 

A Mezzanine Adds Space

The practice expertly made use of the available height to create a mezzanine level along the entire wall opposite the window. This was used to house shelves and storage closets, while the lower part provided the space required for the walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom requested by the customer.

 

Trial: the Pocket Door System with Transparent Glass Panels

At the centre of this ingenious solution, Scrigno’s products played a fundamental role. A Trial pocket door system with three transparent glass panels was indeed installed to separate the bedroom area from the walk-in wardrobe and adjacent bathroom.

 

Delimited Spaces and Visual Continuity

As well as delineating the spaces, the transparent door leaves allow the natural light from the French window to pass through, making the most of the neutral interior design colour scheme chosen. This solution guarantees visual continuity and fluidity of the environments, without compromising the privacy of the bathroom, thanks to a length of dividing partition which houses the basins in the visible section and the shower in the hidden portion.
